Torrevieja is a lovely coastal town approximately 30 minutes south of Alicante International Airport and some 20 minutes north of Murcia Airport. Because Torrevieja is an old fishing town, with it´s own harbour and small fishing fleet. It is not a 'resort' in the package holiday industry. Those activities take place much further to the North.The shops, bars and restaurants of the town are open all year round, to cater for a population which is either resident in the area, or enjoying a stay in a holiday home owned by themselves, friends or relatives.
